Presentation to Hartford, CT Adobe User Group Tonight

At 5:30 PM CST (Cool Standard Time), I'll be presenting to the Hartford CT Adobe User Group over Connect. My presentation will be on ColdFusion 8 and Ajax. (You may have heard CF8 adds a few things in this area. ;) The presentation is open to one and all. URL below:

I'll be showing up around 5 for testing and karaoke.

Hey Ray,

How long do you plan on presenting? Do you have any demo code to look at before hand?

What is your opinion about using the AJAX tags, specifically the presentation tags div, window, menu etc as opposed to hand coding? Should they only be used for prototyping or can we finally let coldfusion take over?

Justin: One hour ish. I have the code but will share it AFTER the preso, when I get the recording URL. That way you can have it and watch me later.

As for my opinion - I love them. Does it mean you don't have to do any code (JS code) - no. The tags do a lot of things simply - but you _will_ need to go out of the sandbox from time to time. The UI things will never be able to please everyone - but stuff like AjaxProxy is UI-agnostic and should make everyone happy.

I was part of the group watching your presentation with Jeff Coughlin. Excellent job; I can't wait to get CF8 in our shop.
